Khalid Bomba CEO Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency Africa

Khalid Bomba is the Chief Executive Office of the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency.

The Agency is an initiative of the Government of Ethiopia, established by federal regulation to promote agricultural sector transformation in Ethiopia by identifying solutions to systemic bottlenecks in key program areas.

Modeled after similar and successful organizations in Asia, the Agency has a unique operating structure and reports to a Transformation Council chaired by the Prime Minister of Ethiopia.

Bomba is a Senior Program Officer within the Agricultural Development Group at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Prior to joining the Gates Foundation, Khalid served as the Regional Director for Africa at the Global e-Schools and Communities Initiative (GeSCI), an NGO founded by the UN ICT Task Force to advise governments on developing effective strategies in utilizing ICTs to improve national education systems.

Khalid has also served as the President and CEO of FAN4Kids, an NGO dedicated to improving the quality of fitness and nutrition curriculum in urban schools.

Bomba is the Chief Financial Officer of Invisible Hand Networks, a technology company with a software platform optimizing the real-time allocation of communication bandwidth.

Bomba began his career at JP Morgan, spending nearly a decade working as a Vice President on corporate fi nance issues in Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. Khalid is a graduate of Swarthmore College and the London School of Economics.
